Whitfield Family Practice provides lab testing for the whole family at our Decatur, Alabama office inside the Med-Surg Clinic. Our lab testing helps diagnose illness, monitor chronic conditions like diabetes and high cholesterol, and support your ongoing care. Lab work is often ordered as part of an annual physical or when you’re being seen for symptoms that need further evaluation.
Because we treat patients from 9 months to 90 years of age, lab testing is used at every stage of life — whether it’s routine bloodwork as part of a well visit, monitoring for an ongoing chronic condition, or diagnostic testing when you’re not feeling well. Our providers, Dr. Amber Whitfield, MD, Liz Berry, PA-C, and Chase Fortune, CRNP, along with our team of experienced nurses and office staff, use lab results to guide personalized, individualized care for each patient.
Our lab is walk-in, and no appointment is needed, even if an appointment reminder shows a time. Labs are first come, first served. You can come any time the lab is open: the lab opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 11:55 AM for lunch, reopens at 1:00 PM, and closes at 4:30 PM. On Fridays, the lab is open from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM and is closed Friday afternoon. Our whole office closes for lunch, and the doors are locked during that time. We accept most major insurance plans, including BCBS of AL, Medicare, Tricare, United Health Care, Cigna, Cigna Healthspring, Aetna, and Humana. We are not accepting new patients with Medicaid at this time. Current Medicaid patients, please call us with questions. Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
